Who do you serve at Summit Equestrian Center?

Our programs are designed specifically for military veterans.

What kind of activities will I be doing with the horses?

Activities range from groundwork (working with horses from the ground) to grooming and riding—depending on your comfort level and goals. No pressure, no judgment.

Is this therapy?

We are not a replacement, but a good addition to clinical therapy. Our programs are designed to be both restorative and educational, offering meaningful experiences that recognize and honor the unique journey of those who’ve served.

When did Summit Equestrian Center open?

Summit Equestrian Center was incorporated into the state of Indiana in 2010, by founder Allison Wheaton and the program began the same year. It is a 501c3 non-for-profit.

We do not offer riding lessons to the general public but there are several great training programs that provide beginner riding lessons & riding opportunities in Northeast Indiana.
